What are the ramifications of moving to another country?

I am a US citizen, close to retirement age and considering moving to the UK to live. Do US citizen’s need special visa’s to live abroad? Can the own property? Can they collect social security while living in another country? What about health insurance? Can one find a part time job in another country?

Ouch, have you seen the pound’s value lately? You’ll be taking a big bite out of your savings. I’m looking at Belize personally. Better weather, better exchange rate, everyone speaks English. Just maintain a small place here for hospitalizations.
The UK ? you had better have a good income I know in Asia you are better off leasing Yes you can get S/S health insurance I don’t think so But why lock yourself into any thing now travel the world and than pick the country you want to live in I know a country is like a women the first 6 mos you love every thing than well you know what I mean
