How long should I wait before boxing my belongings before moving into a new place?
LoveeLoveGrl
We’re renting a house and the landlord is giving us our keys on Friday and asked us to be moved in by the 15th. I’ve moved by myself before, but not with children and a husband. Is this the time now to start packing or could I afford to wait a while before packing? We have alot of things, but if I just take maybe 2 days to do something I will get it done and won’t stop until I finish. Also any moving tips would be nice

yes you really need to pack up so you don’t have to wait for the last minute. so start getting organize into boxes. God Bless in ur new home.
My advise would be to start early by boxing things that you don’t use often and start placing boxes in an out-of-the-way place like an extra bedroom or the garage. Start small and pack a few boxes a day and then get aggressive on the last two days. Box the kids bedrooms last so the children have as little disruption as possible and unpack their rooms first at the new place. Good luck!
A tip for moving day:
Designate one box as “essentials” put the following items in it:
toilet paper (at least one roll for each bathroom in the new home)
paper towels (at least one roll for each bathroom in the new home, and one for the kitchen) or bath/dish towels, if you prefer
soap
plastic cups
your favorite beverages (moving is thirsty work!)
This box should be the last box to leave your old home, and the first one to arrive at your new home.
Any other essentials you can think of should be added. I’ve never moved with children, so I’m sure there are extra items you will need for them, as well.
