I live in the UK at the moment and i am desperate to move to New York City. I don’t have much money and i have a partner and a baby daughter. I think moving to America holds more possibilities for us and i would love to move into an apartment and get a job. How do i go about this? Do i need a Visa? Please help me, has anybody moved from the UK to New York?

  1. Well, unless you are a student or have a sought after skill set it can be difficult to gain legal entry for an extended period. If you are in a field that is in demand (Engineering, Teaching, Nursing, etc) you will likely be able to find work and your employer can help you get the necessary visa to immigrate to the US. Otherwise I don’t see much opportunity. BTW, NYC can be a fairly expensive city to live in.

    Good luck.
