How can I keep the roaches from moving with me?
Allison B
I am moving out of my current apartment because of an insane roach problem. The thing is, I don’t want them to “move” with me. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to keep them from getting into the boxes and moving with me. I plan on bombing the apartment right before the move and bombing the new apartment right after I get there. Any other suggestions?

Put everything outside in a dry cool place, bomb everything like you said and go through your belongings outside, not in the new apartment.
Good Luck.
Throw away every piece of furniture that you cannot clean thoroughly inside and out. Assume all appliances are full of them, same thing if you can’t clean them inside and out throw them away. Expensive but it’s the only way to be sure. Have done it twice, sued apartments for everything I had to throw away and won 1st time in court. Lost second time in court. I would definitely go to court again and risk loss, because if you win they have to pay for your move and all your stuff. If you loose you pay court costs ($150.00) & what it would cost you anyway. So it is worth a try.
First pack all the stuff you aren’t gonna need for a while. Pack it in heavy duty plastic bags, and make sure they don’t rip. Contractor bags are very heavy duty. Tape them closed so nothing is getting in or out. Don’t open those bags for at least a couple weeks. Toss some roach baits or boric acid in all boxes and bags to be on the safe side. All your other stuff I’d check thoroughly while packing and wrap in Saran (plastic) wrap and or tape up everything and anything that’s got any opening/holes so nothing is getting in or out of those either, and also, don’t use that stuff for at least a couple weeks. You should also consider replacing electronics/small appliances since bugs seem to like to hide in those. When you get to your new place open up all boxes outside (so you don’t bring them in your home) and if you find any live bugs, immediately seal it up and put it away for another week. This is what I did. I had a roommate that brought bugs when they moved in and I did not want to take them with me when I moved out. I was almost freakish in making sure we didn’t take any with us, and we didn’t. Good luck
