What is a good moving company that will move your stuff?

We are moving almost 500 miles away and need a good company to move my stuff. Any suggestions? I don’t want to be “cheap” but I don’t want to spend alot either.

Atlas is a good company, but have several movers come to your house and give you quotes.
They estimate by weight, and if you go with a ‘binding estimate’, then you pay the rate that gave you, regardless if your stuff ends up weighing more than what they estimated.
Also, it is cheaper if you box up your stuff yourself, than if they box it for you.
I would try uship.com. You put in the details of your move and then different movers place bids on your shipment. It may be a good resource for you. Whatever you do, make sure you get a guaranteed price in writing before your move, as alot of movers tend to give you one price quote and then escalate the price on the day of your move when you have no other options!
