I moved from Upland, CA to Chicago, IL. There was a lot of stuff to move. If this is the case with you, I’d suggest you get a truck involved. I figured out that driving with my own things would be more expensive so I flew & sent my things in one of those shared shipments. Where the truck has your things in with others things & God help your things if something happens. Cheap but insurance is necessary.
Good luck.
Reduce as much as possible. The less you have to move, the cheaper it is. Packing yourself saves money. Driving yourself saves money. If too much for a car, you will need to borrow or rent a truck. Cost is primarily determined by cost of gas if you self-move. Labor if you hire movers. Truck rental is relatively minor, but depends on mileage. Get quotes from several companies like U-Haul, Ryder. If first move, plenty of free advice oon U-haul site.
Ship stuff UPS or rent a UHAUL and drive.
UHAUL rental!!!
ABF U-Pack is the way to go it cost like $1500.00 from Philly to las Vegas you pack up a 7×8x9 ft container and they’ll;l ship it door to door in no time
I helped my Mom move from Eugene, Oregon to Oceanside, CA. She rented a U-Haul and towed her car behind her. But I don’t think it was cheap. Personally, I think the cheapest way would be to get rid of as much stuff as you can so you just pack your car and drive there. If you’re feeling brave, you might be able to find someone who needs a ride to LA that would be willing to help pay for the gas. There are usually posts at Universities and Colleges from people trying to find rides… especially around the holidays or at the beginning of Summer. Try PSU or Univ. of Portland.
